Golden Record Project
The Golden Record Project
Sandbox Theatre collaboration
Set design made from found objects and dumpster trash. Materials intended to take up space in shipping becomes "space junk".
Part art installation, part performance, part interactive museum, The Golden Record Project was a collaboration with the Sandbox Theatre, in Minneapolis. It explored the cultural, historical and current significance of the original Golden Records, curated messages contained on LP records that were fixed to the outside of the Voyager I and II and launched in 1977.
The City Pages’ Jay Gabler called The Golden Record Project “…a richly imagined and touchingly intimate journey back to an oasis of idealism in a dour decade from a war-torn century.”
